Third round of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the UAE

On February 14, 2018 Abu-Dhabi hosted the third round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates. The Belarusian Side during the consultations was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, while the Emirati Side was headed by the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE for Human Rights and International Law, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman.

In the course of the consultations the parties substantively considered the full range of issues of bilateral agenda. Special attention was paid to development of Belarusian-Emirati cooperation in political, trade and economic spheres, activization of the visit exchange on the highest and high levels as well as to widening of the legal basis of cooperation. The parties stated the high level of trust between Belarus and the UAE and fruitful interaction in the international arena especially in the field of human rights.

Andrei Dapkiunas and Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman exchanged views over development of the situation in the Middle East and the Northern Africa regions, considered ways to resolve regional and international conflicts as well as discussed the main trends in development of bilateral and multilateral relations in the post-Soviet space.
