On the entry into force of the Memorandum on the exchange of driving licenses

On July 12, 2024 the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses came into force.

According to the Memorandum citizens of the Republic of Belarus who have a permanent residence permit in the UAE are exempt from theoretical and practical tests to exchange a driving license of the Republic of Belarus for a driving license of the United Arab Emirates, which gives the right to drive light vehicles.

To proceed the exchange of a driving license, the concerned person needs to contact road and transport authorities of the relevant emirate (for example, Road and Transport Authority (RTA) in the emirate of Dubai).
