Belarusian delegation took part in the 16th session of IRENA

On January 11, 2026, the Belarusian delegation took part in the 16th Session of the Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), held within the framework of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.

The head of the Belarusian delegation, Ambassador of Belarus to the UAE Igor Bely, in his statement highlighted Belarus's practical experience in enhancing energy efficiency and gradually expanding the use of renewable energy sources, and reaffirmed Belarus's readiness for active dialogue and cooperation within IRENA.

The Belarusian Ambassador emphasized the inadmissibility of sanctions pressure on individual countries, which restricts access to advanced energy technologies and hinders the achievement of common goals of sustainable development and the global energy transition.
