Political cooperation

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were established on June 6, 1997.

 

The Embassy of Belarus in the United Arab Emirates is responsible for developing cooperation with Saudi Arabia. The Ambassador of Belarus to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (concurrently) H.E. Igor Bely, presented copies of his credentials on October 9, 2025. The interests of Saudi Arabia in Belarus are represented by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Russian Federation.

 

In March 2004 and January 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus paid official visits to Saudi Arabia.

 

In December 2023, the first round of Belarusian-Saudi political consultations at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers was held in Riyadh.

 

Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Saudi Arabia within the United Nations and other international organizations is constructive.

 

The legal framework of the bilateral relations includes the General Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, intergovernmental agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and on mutual protection of investments, on cooperation in science and technology, interagency memoranda in the field of sports, education, on political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs, on cooperation between NAS of Belarus and the King Abdel Aziz Scientific and Technological City, as well as an agreement on cooperation between the BelCCI and the Federation of Saudi Chambers, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of Belarus and the Ministry of Justice of Saudi Arabia, as well as a number of other agreements.
