On cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the State of Kuwait
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the State of Kuwait were established on 25 May 1992.
Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the UAE is responsible for the development of cooperation with the State of Kuwait. On 15 June 2025, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Kuwait (concurrently) H.E. Igor Bely presented his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait. Since October 2024, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Russian Federation H.E. Rashed Al-Adwani has been accredited to Belarus.
In October 2002, a state delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the President of the Republic of Belarus, H.E. Aleksandr Lukashenko, paid a visit to Kuwait.
Kuwait has been visited by the Head of the Presidential Administration and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. Belarus has been visited by the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs of Kuwait.
The first meeting of the Joint Belarus-Kuwait Commission on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation was held in Kuwait City in November 2009. The second meeting of the Commission took place in Minsk in September 2014.
In November 2021, Kuwait City hosted the first round of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Kuwait at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers.
Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the State of Kuwait within the United Nations and other international organizations is constructive.
The legal framework of the bilateral relations includes intergovernmental agreements on economic, trade and technical cooperation, on the promotion and the reciprocal protection of investments, on the avoidance of double taxation, on air service, as well as Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agreement on Cooperation between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agreement on Cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, as well as a number of other agreements.
Trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries is developing.
