Special Olympics Belarus Committee team visited the UAE
10.02.2026From February 5 to 10, 2026, the team of the Special Olympics Belarus Committee visited the UAE to participate in the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026.

The Belarusian delegation included residents of the Glusk Children’s Social Boarding Home Vesnovo, who competed in the track and field program, demonstrating their athletic skills in various distances, high and long jumps, hammer throw, and shot put.
A special feature of the event was the participation of Belarusian athletes in the Games Opening Ceremony Parade.

During their stay in Abu Dhabi, a meeting with members of the Belarusian delegation was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus. Belarusian Ambassador to the UAE Igor Bely presented the athletes with medals and memorial signs, expressing appreciation for their distinguished representation of the country on the international sports arena and emphasizing the importance of such events for the development of humanitarian cooperation and the promotion of the principles of inclusivity.

The Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 is the largest international multisport event, bringing together both professional and amateur athletes. More than 25,000 athletes from over 120 countries are participating. Medals are awarded in more than 33 sports disciplines, including athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, rugby, swimming, cycling, tennis, badminton, judo, karate, Muay Thai, sailing, and canoeing.
