On signing agreement with KFAED

On January 27, 2021 in Kuwait at the headquarters of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) an agreement was signed providing the allocation by the Fund of a loan for the development of health infrastructure in Belarus. On behalf of the Belarusian side the agreement was signed by the Ambassador of Belarus to the UAE and Kuwait Andrei Luchenok, and on behalf of KFAED side by the Director General of the Fund Mr. Abdulwahab al-Bader.

Belarus already has a successful experience of cooperation with KFAED. In 2002-2004 Belarus has successfully implemented an investment project for the reconstruction of the polyester yarn plant at Svetlogorsk-based Khimvolokno with KFAED funding of $ 17 million. In this regard, the prospects for continuing cooperation between Belarus and KFAED were also discussed.

It was noted during the talks that the adoption by the Fund of a positive decision on cooperation with Belarus will contribute to the development of bilateral relations, as well as to strengthening the international role of Kuwait and KFAED in supporting important humanitarian projects around the world.
