On the participation of the Ambassador in the 14th session of the IRENA General Assembly

On April 18-19, 2024 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates Andrei Luchenok took part in the events of the 14th session of the General Assembly of IRENA – the International Renewable Energy Agency.

Ambassador has voiced during his speech the position and achievements of the Republic of Belarus in the field of development of renewable energy sources, as well as our country’s contribution to the prevention of global climate change.

Current session of the IRENA General Assembly is being held under the theme “Outcome of COP28: Infrastructure, Policies and Skills for Tripling Renewables and Accelerating the Energy Transition” as part of summarizing the results of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which took place in UAE in November — December 2023.

168 countries are currently members of IRENA, including the Republic of Belarus.
