On the participation of Belarusian schoolchildren in the International Chemistry Olympiad in Saudi Arabia

Belarusian schoolchildren won a gold and two bronze medals at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad, which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The competition included several stages, which involved solving problems in general, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, chemistry of high-molecular compounds, as well as solving practical experimental parts.

The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) is an annual chemistry competition for schoolchildren that has been held since 1968. The competition is aimed at establishing and developing contacts between young people from all over the world interested in science. In 2023, the Belarusian team won three silver and one bronze medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad. In 2025, the Olympiad is planned to be held in the UAE.
